There's No Problem Too Big For God
Scripture Reading
Isaiah 40:26-31
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
27 Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Devotional
Have you ever been out at the park at night or camping and looked up to admire the beauty of all the stars in the sky? There’s just something magical and relaxing about it. It’s even more breathtaking when you’re in the middle of nowhere, away from all the light pollution, and it looks like God just tossed glitter into the night. The stars are uncountable. And yet God didn’t just haphazardly create the universe and all that’s within it, the scripture said he knows every star by name. Everything was made with intention and is known by God. So, if God knows even a star by name, how well do you think he knows you and me?
Verse 28 shows us that God not only masterfully created the universe, but he is everlasting and never grows tired or weary. But it doesn’t stop there, verse 31 says that those who place their hope in the Lord will be renewed in strength and never faint. This is the kind of God we serve. He is all powerful and never grows weary and yet he doesn’t hoard that to himself. He wants to share his endless strength with us. He wants to lift us up when we fall over like a turtle and can’t get back up. He wants us to not just fly, but to soar like a mighty eagle. These are things we cannot do on our own. Life might have kicked you down, troubles may be brewing all around you, the future may look completely uncertain, but you can be certain about at least this… There is no problem too big for the God that created the universe – a God that is all powerful, never tires, knows everything about you, and loves you. If today you find yourself in a situation and it feels hopeless or if you’re just at a point that you are tired and weary, I encourage you to go outside and look up and when you see those stars in the sky, be certain of who God is. God is our creator, our friend, our comforter. He didn’t just create the world and walk away. No, he created the world and everything in it, then after we rejected God, he still saved us out of his own goodness and mercy. Even more, he desires good things for us and loves us unconditionally. So, I say all this because life has and will continue to throw us nasty curve balls. We will fall down and we will need God to help us back up. All we need to keep our eyes focused on God, having certainty in who he is and what he can do, and he will show up. He won’t be there early nor late, but he’ll be there right on time. Let’s pray.
Prayer
Father God, there is no one like you. You created everything, including me, and you know me by name. In fact, you know everything about me. My problems may be way too big for me, but I know I can do anything with your help. Lord, I ask for your help today in the areas of my life that I cannot overcome alone. I am leaning on your promises and I need your strength and help in conquering my situation. I thank you for what you’ve done for me in the past and I praise you for what you’re about to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Words of encouragement: When we're under attack by the enemies or life treated us unfairly remember these: Do not grumble, complain or bad mouthing to God and let the enemy take the words out of your testimonies and prevent
you from being an overcomer!
The Greek translation for "faint" (out of bad). v 31 reference to those who Trust and Wait on the Lord he increases us with his power so that we can overcome and have victory over our circumstances.
We may not Always soar as high as the eagle's, or Always running and not grow weary But, we will Always walk "towards" him and not be faint.
"Vengeance is mine and I will repay says the Lord" like…
Psalm 139: 15-16
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 121:2,4
My help comes from the Lord , who made heaven and earth.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
